Frequently Asked Questions

Providing answers to frequently asked questions related to legal matters such as Criminal Law, Traffic Law, Family Law and Wills and Estates.

Fixed fees are available for a lot of criminal, traffic and estate matters.

If questioned by police you are required to give your name address and date of birth other than that you have a right to silence and in most situations your lawyer will advise you to exercise that right.

An AVO is not a criminal charge, and as such, receiving one will not give you a criminal record. However, breaching an AVO is a serious criminal offence, and you may be charged if you breach it. The maximum penalty for breaching an AVO is a fine of $5,500 and/or 2 years imprisonment.
